Default Good Source for Replacement LCDs

Hi Guys -

I found someone who will do the soldering work for an LCD replacement on my 2002 C5 A6. Does anyone know a (reputable) source for just the LCD? I found some on e-bay, but ideally I'd like to buy one from a seller whom someone has already dealt with.

Thanks,

At times or by occasion the lcd problem is in poor solder connections starting in hot weather days then becomes worse even on the coldest day.

Here's what I can't quite figure out though...

There's this one for $85

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Display-Screen-Cluster-Audi-A3-S3-A4-S4-RS4-A6-S6-RS6-C5-Allroad-Quattro-/380780030580?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AAudi&hash=item58a8422a74&vxp=mtr
Then this one for $63

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Display-Screen-Cluster-AUDI-A3-A4-A6-S3-S4-S6-RS4-RS6-Allroad-Quattro-C5-/171107722715?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d6d0a5db&vxp=mtr
The first one definitely looks... "less janky", but not sure that the look of the wiring harness really has anything to do with how functional it is. However for $85 seems like a lot for a small LCD. Thoughts?

Interesting you mention that... That's exactly what mine does - On hot days it's terrible, but on moderate days it's not so bad. But I can't think of a good way to test whether it's the soldering joints or the LCD without taking a soldering iron to it (I'm not all that comfortable soldering tiny parts like that).

The $85 one is what it should look like, just like the brand new one I have in my hand right now. Of course fleabay listers can be lazy and use a generic photo.

Does $85 seem like a good deal? Where did you source yours?

I bought this one in 09 from a Norwegian source on Ebay who no longer lists, I payed $120 then and its VDO.

I've been trying to get my daughters car here to replace it, looks like this spring when she goes out west along with a tb service it will find a home.

I paid $90 with shipping from the eBay seller "autodisplay". It was shipped to me from Denmark and took only less than a week.

The LCD I got has orange/yellow ribbon cable instead of blue as you can see in photos I took recently.

The screen brightness is not a 100% perfect match but it's not too bad and you hardly notice it
