Default European front plate

In my state, we aren't requited to have a front license plate and I've kind of been thinking about putting an authentic looking European plate on the front. Is there a source anyone can recommend for this? Is it easy to convert the front bumper to accept a Euro plate?

Default Just put one on

Although you do need a front plate in Colo, I put one on using my existing plate numbers and it has the state flag on it, so we'll see. Very easy to install, front plate bumper cover will pry off with some elbow grease. I would recommend a plate holder as well.

I got mine here:

I removed the plate thingy on the front bumper. Was surprise to find it was mostly held on with soft adhesive. Anyway, not sure how to mount my new euro license plate bracket. I assume I drill a few holes and use sheet metal screws or something.

Here's a picture of the bracket.

Check with your DMV first. Some states that do not require a front plate also rule out a "real-looking" front plate that differs from your regular license plate ID.

Can you tell me how you attached the euro plate bracket to your bumper? I can tell if it would be OK to drill holes and use sheet metal screws.

If you buy the bracket from the website suggested above they come with screws and washers. The plastic is very soft and I just lined up where I wanted it and drove the screws in with some light elbow grease. They tapped like butter. Very clean install.

I actually did the exact same, getting a euro plate to run on the front (compulsory here in IL) with my existing registration number and the state flag. Never got any trouble from the authorities. I have since installed a euro tub in the back and have put the filler back on the front and the euro plate on the back and my registration tag on the euro plate. I'm going to see how long I can go without getting questioned. Looks sooo good. I hate the shape of our plates.

^The plastic in the front bumper is very soft, that is. And the supplied screws tap easily. I'm not sure if that was clear.
