the car doesn`t register that the left back door is closed

Default the car doesn`t register that the left back door is closed

when i close the left back door the interior lights, lights on the door, light under the seat stays on and the monitor in the dash is showing that the left back door is open.

any ideas on what the problem can be?

Hi.
its probably the switch inside the door lock that is faulty. The comfort control module relies on this switch to tell it that the door is shut. You will need to replace the complete lock.

I had the same exact problem. I bet its the ground wire or another wire is cracked in the rubber boot. You can open the door and remove the rubber boot to get to the connector.
Check the wires to see if any are cracked

the rubber boot that covers the harness going from the body to the door. Open the door and look at the space between the door and body near the door hinge.
