Default Trunk Hinge...trunk lid too high

So I bought my A8L used. Previous owner said that the car had issues with the trunk hinge. Says Audi told him to replace them. I did. The actual trunk deck is not flush it is raised. I have tried adjusting the desk lid, the hinges, etc. With no luck. Suggestions? Is there a DIY for adjusting the hinges or deck lid?

How about the 2 trunk stops on each side, screw them all the way down - also adjust the trunk lock all the way down.

Cheers,

Louis

I tried the trunk stops. Was thinking about the lock but in the process of it my lock has now broken so I will be replacing it as well.

My trunk lid is about 1/4" too high on right side. Guys at Audi told me that it is because of the trunk motor. The motor couldn't shut trunk down completely, only 96% or so.

I don't remember there being an adjustment in the motor assembly for closing. Been thinking about taking out the motor. The opening and closing feature is too slow for me. Any ill effects of just removing the motor?

It will be fine without the motor. I've been using without the motor working for a while until it's fixed. if you want to remove it, remove it or just loosen the 3 bolts, rotate the trunk up/down to your liking and tighten them all. No need to remove the motor, use it manually is fine too. The center bolt is the one that let you to move the hinge, the outside 2 are for the motor. If you want to remove the motor, don't need to remove the center bolt.

How about the pictures of the trunk sticking up, the stopper screw and the motor hinge?

Cheers,

Louis
