Default APR ECU upgrade for 2010 A4

I am looking at getting a chip upgrade for my 2010 A4. Is it worth the cost from experience?

Don't know about on the newer Audis but on my 1999.5 it was hands down the BEST upgrade. Plan to do it on my 2014 as soon as the warranty is over.

Yeah, my warranty just expired about 2 months ago. I have been looking forward to the chip upgrade, just wanted to make sure it didnt come with any problems in the future.

Without warranty concerns, absolutely. A stage 1 at 93 octane won't throw you in the back seat, but it will make the car way more fun than it already is.

Great. So long as as it is a noticeable difference in HP and torque, I am looking forward to it...

For me, it also reduced the lag in the turbo and gave you more "boost" in the lower RPM's.

Yes, I noticed the same on my 99.5. The stock level of boost came on almost right away and then the extra boost came on later. Made the car much better to drive.

I had two ECUs for my 99.5 one with the chip and one stock. I hated the week before a service when I needed to swap the stock ECU in. Then as soon as my service was done, the APR ECU went back in. There were days I'd do the swap in the parking lot of my office. Oh those were the days! I sooooo wish I could swap ECUs now but it seems the Immobilizer (& possibly APR) are making it too much of a pain to do. We'll see if I can wait till the warranty is up. At 3,300 miles currently on the clock, it seems like a long long wait.

Def worth it. You won't notice a whole lot of difference when going full throttle from a stand still, but when you are driving and have it in the 2-3k rpm range and then punch it, there is a major difference. Much more fun to drive. I would just make sure you do not have (or have already dealt with) some of the major problems that the B8s have before doing the tune, mainly oil consumption and turbo waste gate issues.

The biggest problem is that once you go stage 1, you will immediately want to go stage 2 haha torque is addicting
