Default Diesel Fuel Antifreeze

This will be my first winter with the TDI and it's predicted to get down around 0 F the first of next week. What's the consensus on adding antifreeze to the fuel? Any particular brand recommended by the dealers?

Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement, Arctic Formula. 8 oz per 20 gallons of diesel. Available in Wally World and most auto supply stores.

Isis, not sure if you're writing from the deep south or Green Bay, but fuel will be seasonally adjusted per location. If you wish that extra layer of protection, I'll also suggest:

Needs to be used at every fill up if you are in a cold location for it to provide the benefit. Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the responses, guys. I'm in Louisville, Kentucky, and the temp's are going to be south of 0 for the first time in fifteen years. The last time that I drove a diesel was 25 years ago and I had it gell on me (prairies of central Illinois, -19F)and that was fuel purchased at a truck stop that had supposedly been winterized. I sure don't want to repeat that experience!

The dealership says not to worry, but I doubt that the folks in the service department are old enough to remember the last time it was this cold around here, much less how it was dealt with. I think that I'm going to play it safe and dump some conditioner in the tank.

We're supposed to go down to 4° on Monday night. I just put about 10 oz of the PowerService (purchased at WallyWorld) in my Q7 TDI's 26 gallon tank when filling it today.

It may be the Placebo Effect, but the engine seems to run better and have more power, too. Higher Cetane?

PS recommends double-dosing (200:1) when temps approach 0F. Get the stuff in there ASAP !

The temperature indicated 0 as I was driving to work this morning. Dosed the car with fuel conditioner yesterday afternoon (while the temperature was still in the 40's). Fired up with no hesitation this morning and ran just fine. Temp's are still falling and the windchills are supposed to be in the -20's. It's supposed to start warming up Wednesday. Can't happen soon enough!

Does anyone know Audi's position on these fuel additives with respect to engine warranty?

As long as it meets the Federal Ultra Low Sulfur requirements, there should not be any effect.
