Default do a search for torque converter it's an issue on a4/6/8's apparently

but Audi doesn't think it's their issue. I was quoted $2000 to replace mine. fixed on '03 and newer A6's supposedly.

Default Try the DC forum for a shop.

As far as where to get the torque converter, to me it would be a function of labor cost; if labor is expensive, buy a new one from the dealer. If labor is cheap, buy a rebuilt or send your out for repair.

No idea on labor cost other than my guess at the amount of time in the other post: minimum 10 hours labor.

I have a tranny in the garage,I think they were asking around $2500 in the S4 board awhile back.
I had purchased it(used) for peace of mind.

let me know if you are interested.

Default I did IPT. No complaints, but others have had some. I would talk to IPT, L10, and...

anyone else who does this upgrade and see who you feel you can trust. I have heard good and bad about all of them.

Default If you are in Chicago I would do it for $600.

And $200 for a rebuilt TC.

Default

It could be a stuck valve in the valve body unless your fluid is all burnt up.
