Hey everyone, what is the ideal tire width for a 9" wide wheel? 245?

according to tirerack.com...
Eagle F1 GS-D3 (assuming 40 series and 17" diameter)
245/40-17 = 9.7" section width and 8.3" tread width
255/40-17 = 10.2" section width and 8.7" tread width
Both will fit fine on a 9" wide wheel. The 255/40 will give a sidewall that is more horizontal and maybe even bulge a bit for some rim protection (remember - the 9" rim width is measured where the tire bead seats, so the overall wheel width is slightly more). Also, you'll have more tread width.
For other sizes, <a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Ftires%2FSpec.jsp%3Fmake%3DGoody ear%26model%3DEagle%2BF1%2BGS-D3">check the specs here.</a>
