Default I want wheel spacers so bad, but........

Will 15mm or 20mm (I'm leaning towards only going as big as 15mm to avoid any potential rubbing) change my ride feel for the worse? I don't want it to ride any rougher or stiffer. The 20in rims I have already have a rougher ride than the 18" wheels I have been accustomed to in my other 2 cars. I know it will obviously negatively affect my turning radius but that's not a big deal to me. Will it cause any damage to steering and/or suspension components in the long run? Will it cause my tires to wear out quicker? I have read through the forums and have seen a very few comments that say yes to all of these questions. Can someone with first hand knowledge confirm this for me because I really want to buy some 15mm for all 4 wheels. I have stock 20in. rims on my 2013 A6 Prestige 3.0T.

Thanks for any input.

i have 19in and 15mm all around and it rides fine
tires doesnt wear out quicker (at least not what i have noticed) i would think a bit more stress on the wheel bearing (which i had my rear replaced at 85K miles or so)

ok. Thanks. Why did you have to do the wheel bearings? What were the symptoms? Was it a result of the spacers? Thanks.

Wheel bearings are a known issue on Audis as the mileage increases. You know they are going bad when they start to hum at higher speeds.

Thanks Gents. Do you think the spacers contribute to the bearing going bad sooner than normal? Or is it negligible? Thanks.

I don’t know about the spacers, I have never used them.

I just fitted 15mm FK Automotive spacers all round to my Quattro A6 this wk. Car looks absolutely fantastic now. It needed the slightly wider stance due to my choice of aftermarket 20s.
It may only be 15mm a side, but the car definitely feels better in terms of handling.. I'm guessing as its that tiny bit of width.

H & R springs going in nxt wk to finish it. Can't wait.

Awesome. I would be interested to see some before and after pictures especially after the springs. Thanks.
