MMI 3G Hidden Menu?

MMI 3G Hidden Menu?
I'm reading that access to the hidden menu on the MMI 5150 was possible via the console buttons (CAR + SETUP) to allow the re-enabling of items such as the battery level meter.
Does anyone know if the hidden menu is accessible on the MMI 3G via the console buttons, and if so the required buttons/sequence? Also, if pre-enabling via VAG-COM (Control Head module) is required, what are the adaptation codes/values?

As an update for anyone that's interested, it does work on the MMI 3G, just hold down car and setup together for about 5 seconds and the engineering menu pops up on screen. Just got to try and fathom out what everything in the menu means now!
