Hi all, one of the the things that I'd like to change on my A7 is the climate control unit, at the moment I have the basic controller - 3 chrome ***** with no display - can anyone advise if it would be a straight swap out for one with the digital display or would it be more involved than that.

Part number I'm thinking of installing is 4G0820043K with the existing one being 4G0820043AC.

I actually prefer the Premium Plus AC controls compared to my Prestige's. Too many buttons to deal with to simply make the car warmer or cooler. The kids do like the dual temp controls in the rear, however. If you "upgrade" you will likely need to swap those out, too. Could be an expensive proposition I'm guessing.

The main thing I miss from my last car was the SYNC option where adjusting the drivers side temp adjusted both sides. I'm not interested in adding the rear controls (I just have a coin tray in that position) just changing out the front module.

I acutally tried to change the 4G0820043AC of my 2013 A6 3.0 TFSI with 4G0820043K recently.
Unfortunately there seemed to be a system error and only a few buttons worked.
According to the mechanic who helped me, additional parts of climate control system might have to be replaced to function 4G0820043K properly.
