Default New RS4 owner, already troubled, need help!

Hi guys

This is my first post. Hope to get some help.

Had been looking for a RS4 for a while, finally pulled the trigger and bought an 2 owner 07 with 63k miles at a local Mercedes dealer yesterday. CarFax is clean, decarbon done at 55k, service seems up to date. I was so excited!

Drove to local coffee shop this am, on the way back suddenly lost power, seems to have gone in limp mode, unable to rev pass 3k. EPC and ESP lights came on. Checked codes went I got home, showing P0121, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, & P0306. Can this be a loose hose somewhere? I hate to think it may be something major already? Please help! Thanks!

Will

Welcome to the club! Most of the RS4 clan use VAG-COM to retrieve codes which provides a plain English description. Don't know about P-codes, sorry. Dont worry, I doubt it's anything even remotely serious.

EDIT: Just googled those codes. The first one is a throttle position sensor error. Check the connection at the TPS, perhaps the locking clip is broken. The rest are cylinder misfires. Make sure your car had received the coil pack recall. If I were you, I'd take it to an Audi dealer this first time so they can check to see if all the recalls and campaigns have been completed on the car. Always pays to build rapport with the dealer.

Throttle Position Sensor. On this motor I think it's integrated into the Throttle Valve Control Module. When looking at the motor, it's just behind the left high pressure fuel pump.

Hi guys, sorry for the delay update. I've too busy with work. So a brief update.

The dealer didn't find much when I took it in last Monday. When I started the car the lights were on for ~ 3 seconds then disappeared. It drove normally the the dealership. They recommended a fuel injection service and replace the aftermarket plugs they found. I drove home last Wednesday without any issues.

Then Thursday morning while driving to work the same thing happened all over again while taking the freeway on ramp with the sport button pressed. I somehow made it back to the dealer and it's still there now. Apparently they found a malfunctioning throttle body motor?(not sure what it is or if that's exactly what he told me) The part hey ordered is coming in from New Jersey tomorrow so hopefully I'll get the car back no later than Wednesday.

Will keep you guys updated. I really want to enjoy the RS4!

So here's another update. The dealer contacted Audi NA and was advised to replaced the throttle body. So I picked up the car on Thursday morning and everything seems to be normal now. All the work was covered by the extended warranty I purchased. I hope it'll remain this way. I like this to be a long term relationship!
