Help! Scared for winter ski season...

I walk from my condo whenever I can. If you park away from cut throughs whenever possible you may able avoid equipment rash on the sides of your nice new car. Avoid being near mud puddles on warm days to keep from being drenched in mud.

I either go for an end space, or do this...
(I took this pic as a buddy saw my car and parked his Datsun in front of it for me to discover on my return!)
I used to just park away from everyone else, but it seems people are attracted to loan vehicles in the lot and feel the need to park next to you - maybe they think you are lonely! So I just do the above now.
I figure there are infinitely less people going to 'key' it because you parked like a jerk compared to the numerous morons that can't keep their door under control when opening...
In 2 years of doing this I have had only one parking attendant have a moan, I told him I'd personally send him the bill for any dents if I park in one WAY too narrow space and he actually sympathised and agreed they should just make all the spaces a bit wider to avoid the problem!

I worried a ton about my first ding, but after a couple years I think of the 5-6 ones I have as battle scars

If you put body side moldings on the car, they are always at the wrong height. Plus, of course, they will void your warranty.
Perhaps if you poured a can of pea soup or clam chowder two feet out from the car, on each side, people would prefer to park further away from what looks like puke?
Or you could learn to knit or macramé, and make a suitably sized car cozy to cover it up and pad it. :-)
I also dread the inevitable dents, but I know they're going to happen. The only good news is that "paintless dent removal" really can work, they can disappear a dent, really disappear it, for around $75 these days. Not always, but often.
