First time caller here. Less than 24 hours into my ownership of a 2014 Prestige I got a cooling system fault message. Off to the dealer we went and the car is staying while they diagnose/repair. The initial word is that there are valves, akin to a thermostat that more finely control the coolant flow and that this/these valves are the source of the fault.

Anyone heard of this?

3.0 TFSI or TDI?

I suspect it threw some codes. I'm sure the dealer will take care of you. Be sure to call Audi corporate and express your concern about the fault and let them know if the dealer is doing a good job taking care of you. Audi appears to be receptive to new owners and they do follow up.

I had a bad apple A4 last year and Audi took care of me. Even the dealer took care of me with an A7 Prestige loaner for several weeks.

3.0 TFSI.

The dealer has been very responsive and I'm chalking this up to birthing pains. I had to send a 2001 Passat to auction when it would not pass smog with only 115k miles so I came back to the VW/Audi family with some trepidation. No loyalty discount for me at purchase after the loss of a perfectly maintained VW and a raised eyebrow from my wife when I came home in a Nissan last night. Fingers crossed....

I just had my thermostat replaced at 28,000mi in my A7 3.0T. So I guess it does happen. They didn't mention anything about it being a common problem or about a part that had to be updated.

Took them a day to diagnose and replace it for me. Hopefully your fix is speedy as well.
