Default Sitting in my 2014 RS5 waiting for flatbed

Pulled into my son's school when all of a sudden the car staring running very rough, with a shudder in the drivetrain that I could feel through the steering wheel. "Felt" as if it was running on half the cylinders.

Check engine light came on. Oil light came on (I assume that is oil pressure). Pulled over immediately and waiting for a flatbed.

Any ideas? I checked oil level and it's full. I hope nothing internally was damaged. I just hit 1,000 miles. Followed Audi's break-in. Was running beautifully until this morning.

Major bummer.

Very sorry to hear this! It could be a number of things. Please keep us informed on what the dealer says. Best of luck!

Heard from the dealer that the log showed misfire in 3 different cylinders. They are not sure why, and are working with Audi.

They are putting in some fuel cleaner as a first pass to see if it resolves the issue.

Sorry to hear that. I would be very pissed off if that happened to my car at 1,000 miles. And more so with an $80,000 RS5. I'd probably return it to the dealer and tell them to refund my money, or trade it for an S7.

Sounds like there may be some impurities in the fuel you purchased or even worse something possibly was put into your gas tank. Could someone have messed with it on Halloween nite ??
Just a thought.

I did fill it up the night before, so that's a possibility.

As for Halloween, doubtful. Car would have been locked, along with the fuel filler door.

Thanks,
Mike

Quick update. Dealer ran some fuel cleaner through the system and no misfires. Audi now has them pulling the plugs and coils, taking a peek, and also checking compression.

Quick update. Plugs and coils were good. Compression solid on all cylinders. Audi had them swap left side coils with right and vice-versa and then put 20 miles on it and report back. Waiting to hear back from SA, but he thinks something got into the fuel system that caused the engine to go into a protective mode and whatever it was was since blown out. I asked about potential converter damage from unburnt fuel and he said the engine put itself into protective mode that was a lean condition since it cutoff fuel. So no concern about catalytic converter issue. I'll update when I hear more in case any RS5 owners run into a similar issue.
