Dealer volunteered to do the cleaning, huh? What a nice guy, that was extremely generous of him (sarcasm), since Audi covers the problem until 125,000 miles (which is not nearly enough - it should be lifetime).

I was reading about using top tier gas could solve that problem and if it wasn't available, the one can use audi fuel additives with the generic gas. Is that true?

Default Carbon Build up has turned up..

Was at the dealer on Friday for oil change, as well have a problem with side assistant Fault in dash...
The dealer did the oil change then said Sir ... You will have to bring your Audi back So we can clean SAI ports.
So at 68776KM The Carbon Build up has turned up..
I'm scheduled for June 17th to do the cleaning .... at the same token they will repair the problem with my side assistant fault ...
They say that they have to remove part of the too front doors

Regards BCD-1

Is this on an older model? I thought Audi fixed this "issue" for the newest version of Audi engines. If not then Audi needs to take a hard look at Honda because it seems they have figured out direct injection design without burning oil.
Top tier gas is bull**** because I only used Shell Vpower in my A4 and I had the issue twice (returned even after "fixing").

I believe they request Top Tier gas for better and cleaner combustion, not to keep the SAI ports clean since no gas gets to them.

I can tell you from first hand experience that there is a difference with Top Tier fuels. Maybe it can't help with the issue being discussed here, but we own a Mini Countryman, and BMW also recommends Top Tier fuel. If we don't use it, after a few tankfuls the engine will develop a significantly rough idle, which can't be resolved without switching back to Top Tier fuel AND using an additive called Techron (marketed by Chevron and widely available), which seems to be (from what I've read, I'm not an engineer) a highly concentrated detergent fuel additive.. If we use Top Tier fuel 100% of the time, we almost never need to add the Techron to keep the engine idling smoothly. I've long assumed that non Top Tier gas does not have sufficient detergent additives to keep the injectors from fouling, and the dirty injectors cause the rough idle. Of course I don't know for sure what's going on, but it's very clear that Top Tier fuel makes a significant difference with that engine.
