I am amazed at the variability in one model of car!

Our 2010 had 2 outer 'large' headrests and 1 center 'mini'.

I was disappointed when we got our 2013 and it had all 3 'large' headrests.

I would love to swap out the center 'large' headrest for a mini.

Anybody want to trade? The interior is black.

WOW! I have never seen this or heard of this. ALL three large!??

I haven't even seen a photo of this on the internet. I did a bunch of searching when I got my previous 2012 Q5 3.2 S-line which had two large, one mini because I had previously seen an all mini picture. But never ran across ALL large.

You would think that scale of economies would make a single offering so much more cost effective. Offering so many different versions is what drives the price of the car upwards. Perhaps it has something to do with local laws governing head restraints or something like that...

We ordered the vehicle so it came off the boat in this condition. If it had sat on a lot somewhere I might have thought that someone switched it out for some reason.

The large one in the center really blocks the rear-view by comparison to the mini that we had in our 2010.

I have considered buying a replacement, but have not found one yet.

The 3 minis (at least in the US-spec cars) has to be an error. It should be 2 taller headrests on the outside and a mini in the middle. The minis are completely impractical as headrests anyway. They jut out and nail you in the back when you're sitting in the seats and even when extended aren't tall enough to actually protect adult heads.

Anyone who has the incorrect config of headrests I'm sure can go to the dealer and make a case to have them swapped - it's a safety concern. Just point them to any Q5 on their lot - most will be correct (although obviously not all!

Yup, 2 regular with a mini in the middle of our '14 Q5.
