Default Rear Headrest

Hi again, my UrS4 has always been missing it's rear headrests, the first one I had with black interior had them in and it looked a lot cooler more Audiish. I am looking for a pair of them if anyone has them or knows where to find them. Perhaps the driver before me thought they impaired visibilty.

Not that it will necessarily help you but the front and rear UrS4 open head rests with the 260 mm c to c post spacing are the same front and rear on the sedans (and Euro UrS4 avants)

You'll want to keep your ears open for someone parting out a car. Alternatively, you can try Force 5 or Shokan, 2 Audi recylce yards that might have what you are looking for.

If you can find it privately, it may be cheaper. As Dave says though, make sure you get the right headrests, model and year of car had them changing from one model to the other.

Dave didn't say that. Dave said 260 mm c to c post spacing UrS4 headrests are the same, front and rear. Once you go to the UrS6, then things get interesting and stupid. But that is another topic for another day.

Being an UrS4 owner who took the rear head rests out, I can offer some background as to why this happens. The thread holding the leather together gives way after being sun baked and splits open. Made the car look bad with them split so I removed them hoping to find an upholsterer that could repair them. I found one place online but they wrap a strap over them changing the look. Running without for now.

Sorry about that Dave, I'm usually more accurate with my posts. Also I think I had your other post on another forum swimming in my head since I really really like the donut headrests (my 95.5 sedan has the solid ones) and had never seen a write up detailing the sordid history of headrests on UrS cars.

No matter what, yI think ou should make sure you check the model & year since there were a few varieties for the S cars in the early to mid nineties.

There isn't much that is sordid, just changes.

The only head rests that fit an UrS4 are those that come from an UrS4 or Audi 100 (maybe) with the 260 mm post spacing. With two exceptions all the UrS6 head rests are 180 mm spacing and therefore don't work. The two exceptions include the center headrest on an late UrS6/A6 avant (narrower than 180 mm even) and the rear seat of the early 1995 UrS6s that used UrS4 260 mm spacings and some kinky posts.

I am looking for beige and have located a set at Shokan and they are being shipped. They are the ones with the hole cut in from a black 93' that had been parted out.
