Default head rest removal

Does anyone know if the head rest in the rear passanger side can be fully remove? I tried press the little plastic switch but only move the head rest up a bit. I need to remove it completely out of the way so the car seat upper tether can be install easily.

Thanks.

My dealer said no as I wanted the two outside TALL rear ones to be changed to ones like the center lower one...

but would love to find a way !

oh wait - do I recall a post about pushing into the seat about 6 inches below and to the left to release ?!? let me search - maybe that's one of my other cars

They must have changed that from the 2010 then because mine come out easily by just holding the plastic thingy pressed. For the front head rests you have to push the seat back though.

Yes, I just saw a post from the VW Tourage and the trick is to push a small button on the left post of the headreast, under the seat cushing. You need to use a small plastic piece to push the button.

I took mine off about 6 months ago. At first I couldn't then I tried it again in about 3 months apart and I gotta tell you, it makes a big difference looking from the rearview mirror.

Actually I found it in the manual. You have to fold down the seat, then the head rest can be removed completely.
