Default FM signal gone really bad

FM signal has gone really really unbearable. Used to be perfect. I replaced the amplifier booster on the back window and it has made no difference. Any ideas where to go from here?
Should have added its a 2005 prefacelift. Not sure if the shark fin antenna is oem or if its even meant to be there. Car has GPS and dab radio if it helps

Default Connectors

I had an A8 in the other day that I tried everything on. I replaced the amp which should have been bad with no effect. It turns out the cable from the amp running to the front was bad. Try wiggling the cable along it's length and see if it suddenly gets better.

I was looking through the list of fuses last night and noticed there was a fuse for the powered/amplified antenna. Did you check that?

I would check each of them. Does your rear defroster work BTW?

Holy smokes a fuse, never checked them. any idea what one? Rear defroster is working. Need to find a fuse layout.
Just checked. No fuse in aerial amplifier! Hopefully this is the problem(I assume it is). I'll report back tomorrow

It was one of the fuses in the passenger side fusebox (side of dash). The panel had a diagram and it's in the owner's manual.

Checked the fuse. No difference. Must be something else!

It is most likely the coax cable going to the shark fin antenna. My B5 Passat had the same problem. Bad thing is that the cable is not one continuous cable from the antenna, but there are two connections. One next to the radio and one next to the antenna. It is the connections that get corroded. On Audi it's amplified antenna and so the power cable may be suspect also.

In my Passat case the problem was with the connection under the headliner below the antenna. The plastic seal between the antenna and the roof sheet metal got hard and cracked. After while if it rained water got to the cable connections and corroded the connection which made for bad reception.

In the A8 I had in, it was the coax coming from the C pillar amplifier (different setup - don't go looking there).
