Not sure what the RNS-E part is all about, but I was able to get VIM working on a NAV MMI for a 2010 S4. Needed a VAGCOM cable to do it, and there was a two step process to it which may be what fazooley is referring to. I had to use a web site along with the radio serial # to get a security code, and then had to use the VAGCOM cable and software to enter the security code and change the setting. PM me if you want more details. Note: enabling VIM in the dashboard may be illegal in some States.

Did a little research. If you have the RNS-E in your car, try reading this:

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...mation-Q-amp-A

Pretty good FAQ. Frankie may be helping to crack the existing hardware to avoid having to buy extra hardware, not sure.

Default RNS-E MK2 VIM

Ok, here's my question that has probably been asked a few time though I can't seem to find a clear answer;

I currently own an RNS-E 1st gen (4B0-035-192) that I enabled VIM via Lamborghini mode PRIMARILY for the for the backup camera..

I am looking to purchasing the newer RNS-E MK2 (**193) model and I am trying to find out if it is possible to do the same (VIM) with it?

If this has been covered, please link..

Thank you,
P

I've been wondering the exact same thing lately. I am on the verge of installing all of the necessary VIM components into my 1st generation. However, the 2nd generation's resolution and interface look a lot better. It'd be cool to have it all. So far, I've asked around and have received some negatives on that question. I am still trying to technically understand. I mean why wouldn't it be possible? Some clarification would be nice. Also, I'd be interested in knowing if the 2nd's Bluetooth output has improved to stereo. I bought the FISCON Basic Plus and realized later that the 1st is limited to mono output. I didn't really come across that detail in threads (or on Kufatec's website ). In my opinion, A2DP seems pointless and lame if you can't hear it in stereo.

OK, so there obviously is more to this than just VAG'ing the car for Lamborghini.

There must be the HEX code fix that we used on the 1st gens via RNSE_VIM/NaviEdit & Brobble (http://naviedit.de)????????

Has anyone at anytime, anywhere, been able to get VIM to work on the RNS-E Mk2??????????????

193 RNS-E VIM hack not possible per this info
http://www.audicarpc.com/FAQs.aspx

you need a bypass switch but that will disable some nav functionality including DIS.
