Not sure what the RNS-E part is all about, but I was able to get VIM working on a NAV MMI for a 2010 S4. Needed a VAGCOM cable to do it, and there was a two step process to it which may be what fazooley is referring to. I had to use a web site along with the radio serial # to get a security code, and then had to use the VAGCOM cable and software to enter the security code and change the setting. PM me if you want more details. Note: enabling VIM in the dashboard may be illegal in some States.

Did a little research. If you have the RNS-E in your car, try reading this:

Pretty good FAQ. Frankie may be helping to crack the existing hardware to avoid having to buy extra hardware, not sure.

RNS-E MK2 VIM
Ok, here's my question that has probably been asked a few time though I can't seem to find a clear answer;
I currently own an RNS-E 1st gen (4B0-035-192) that I enabled VIM via Lamborghini mode PRIMARILY for the for the backup camera..
I am looking to purchasing the newer RNS-E MK2 (**193) model and I am trying to find out if it is possible to do the same (VIM) with it?
If this has been covered, please link..
Thank you,
P

OK, so there obviously is more to this than just VAG'ing the car for Lamborghini.
There must be the HEX code fix that we used on the 1st gens via RNSE_VIM/NaviEdit & Brobble (http://naviedit.de)????????
Has anyone at anytime, anywhere, been able to get VIM to work on the RNS-E Mk2??????????????
