Default 2003 A4 3.0 Fault Codes & advice

Hey all - as a new VAG COM user, i thought i would reach out to this huge knowledge base and ask some advice as to what the following fault codes mean...are these common problems, signs or larger issues, etc? What should me path be to fixing or resolving the problems indicated. Thank you in advance for any advice

All of the faults are intermittent. As such, it means the fault was triggered since the last time faults were cleared but the fault was not present at the time of the scan. So, unless you are having difficulties with the operation of these systems, I would suggest clearing the fault codes and then wait a few days to see if something comes back. If it does, then begin troubleshooting.

If you are having trouble with some portion of the car, then tell us about the problems and we'll make more recommendations.

i am getting a MIL or check engine light every so often. it will usually come on for a couple of days, then go off for a couple of days - that's what prompted me to perform the scan.

i will clear the codes and re-scan after i see a check engine light or in a couple of days, your software makes it easy enough to do.

thank you for your quick reply!

The MIL is because the Camshaft position sensor is wonky. You are going to need to determine if the sensor is bad or the wiring to it is the problem. The friction error are new this scan so you may have some mechanical going wonky in the engine. No choice but to start looking at that area of the engine.

You may find some help on our wiki:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...6/P1998/006552

Deal with the engine and then look at the HVAC stuff. That's convenience stuff.
