Need help getting stuck oil filter off!!!
For the most part, I have always done my own oil and
oil filter changes. Last December, I brought my car to
the "Stealership" to have them do the work (didn't have time...
Christmas shopping... Cold, blah, blah...). Last Sunday
I decided it was time to do the deed once again now that
the temperature is warmer.
I jack the car up, drain the oil, and attempt to
remove the oil filter. Won't budge. After 5 minutes the
filter wrench breaks! I buy a new "Chain" filter wrench
and give it another try. No dice. 2 hours pass. Sun is going down.
By this time, the oil filter is somewhat crushed.
So I do the old school trick and pierce the oil filter
with a long screw driver to get more torque into it.
@#$%!* WON'T COME OFF!!! @#$*! DEALERSHIP!!!
Anybody run into this problem? Any possible solutions?
And yes, I am turning it the right way.
Thanks in advance,
E
