Help Needed - P0305 - Cyl 5 misfire
ok guys..
heres the scoop
i'm loosing my mind and im not sure which route to go.
i got the car with this code.
i did a complete tune-up with Bosch platinum 2's
new wires, new fuel filter, new air filter, replaced the cabin filter (was filthy).
Also when i changed the plugs i noticed there was some oil in the plug wells so i already ordered the valvecover gasket set and i will be doing them ASAP! Also the misssfire is very noticeable right off the bat and feels like a bag of Sh**.
it idles perfect though with a misfire here and there.
Now after i did the tune-up and cleaned the plug wells car car ran like a chanp for 2 days than back to its old stuttery self which really bursts my buble since i just bought the car and i cant even enjoy it.
its a 99 A6 2.8L 30V Tip/Quattro .
car has 180Km's
next couple of weeks gonna tackle the timing belt/water pump with idlers and tensioners.
anything else that i might be forgeting ???
has anyone ran into this problem???
TIA

Re: I got the same on a b6 A4. Randomly comes up. Still not sure.
i took a closer look and the seals arent leaking anymore... WTF ??? no oil or anything, bone dry at this im pretty confused so i whip out the trusty Mac Mentor and go to fast track and what do i find ???
P0301 all the way through P0306, problem Bad fuel injector !!!
so i grb the stetoscope and the take a carefull listen, and guess what it was pretty mucg working/pulsing whenever it wanted to! the other ones were pulding pretty nicely but #5 was just doing its own thing.
ordered one today... will be in tomorow and will post results.
Hope this helped someone else in turn.

Try swapping an injector with the one adjacent to it. If that same injector does the same
thing then its the injector. if it doesnt and the swapped one does what the other did then its in the wiring. Let me know how it worked out.
