VAG-COM questions
I bought a cheap eBay cable and I plug it into my car and put the CD into my laptop but the CD "dosent install". I also have a macbook but no CD tray, is there anywhere I can download it?
Second, I installed new fog lights and they are properly working but that annoying warning chime comes on saying that there is something wrong with my lights when there isn't. Is there a code to disable that?

To do it properly you will need a genuine cable: http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCHUC.html

If you run Windows in BootCamp mode it would be though.

Likely needs to be coded if a retrofit, or DTC's cleared if not.
Depending on the vehicle model and year there may be a factory repair manual procedure required: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...tic_Procedures

Im lost with all this. All im looking for is a code to turn off the code that says my fog lights are out on my B7 a4. This stuff is confusing.. No wonder I like my 87 RX-7 better lol

It could be fog light cold diagnosis or a bit somewhere in long coding.
A full autoscan is the only way to know what modules are there and how they might need to be coded.
What exactly did you do - put LEDs in or... ?
I miss the days of carburetors and points and other things made vehicles easy to work on too.
It's a whole new world that requires a different set of tools and skills these days.

Aha - so it's giving a bulb out warning since it doesn't detect enough current in the circuit.
Fog light cold diagnosis adaptation may fix it, but I'm not certain.
Load resistors are the only other way I know.
May want to check the A4 forum and/or ask Ross-Tech directly.

Rob, you can buy load resistors to simulate a higher load than the LED bulb pulls so as to fool the 'bulb out' warnings. They tend to heat up so you need to watch that.
Radio Shack or another electronic supply/hobbyist store would sell them. You typically have to experiment to find the right value to trick the warning system.
