Default I want to DISABLE side assist feature

Like the topic says, just traded out of the 2011 s4 and into a 2014 but my valentine one radar detector goes crazy with the side assist. Even if you hit the button to turn the lights off its still active radar.

Does anyone know where I could find this or if it is even possible to disable the module with the vag com? or maybe a fuse??

thanks in advance.

Rob-

Probably the easiest way would be to uncheck module 5C in the Installation List of the CAN gateway: http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/i...tion-list.html
Edit: Not 100% sure that would turn it off though, may need to have power removed as well.

There may be additional coding that can be done elsewhere but I'm not familiar with that model.

Wow never realized this could be a problem. I was just about to order a V1 too. That sucks since I really like the side assist.

Default Try reprogramming newer V1s first!

Allegedly, turning on the Traffic Filter will fix this problem. A slightly bigger hammer, and works a little further back in V1 revisions is to turn off POP entirely:

FWIW, I "upgraded" my V1s a couple years back to get the Traffic Filter (for the stupid traffic sensors on I-25). The most cost effective way to do that was to sell my old ones on Craigslist and buy new - because used V1s go for crazy money That cost me noticeably less than doing the "upgrade" through V1.

YMMV, and all that.

And another point I can add is that there is a way to disengage the Laser sensor on the V1. I had to do it on a previous car that used a laser as a gauge for the dynamic cruise control.

Somebody may want to confirm/deny that the side assist does in fact use lasers. Not sure here.
