Regarding the front plate, seems like you informally created a fee system to not have a front plate. You are simply, periodically, paying a fee not to have a front plate.

In tough times, if the states were to wise up, that would be a nice little gem of income: Make fewer plates; make more money from people willing to pay not to have a front one.

OK, I understand a lot of your response and I do not at all disagree that many of the rules and regulations we have to put up with in this wacko world seem silly to anyone able to and willing to use their own experience, brains, etc. to drive safely without requiring the nanny hand of gubbermint constantly slapping them on the wrist. What I do disagree with, however, is that any of us should violate those strictures and assume it is OK to do so - it is not.
I am an odd old bird with a lot of views that would **** off many of the people I interact with who see me as “normal.” Legalize pot, open the borders to immigrants, same sex marriage, sterilize people with too many ugly brats, no speed limits on toll roads, you name it. I do not believe in god and find organized religions to be a major source of the ills of this world. However, until the things I would like to see change have actually changed I feel it is my obligation to follow the rules (many so F_ _ _ing ridiculous). Driving frequently (as I do) in rural upstate NY I see crazy situations where the same road with the same population density and mix of businesses has multiple speed limit changes in the range of a mile or two just because I am passing into a different town, village or hamlet. The same basic piece of blacktop and it’s 55, then 35, then 40, then 45, then 55, then 50 – stop it already! Nonetheless, there I go slowing, speeding up, slowing down and so on – it is something you just got to do or leave the country!
Red lights and red light cameras **** me off, but I always stop, even at 3 AM and wait for the 3 minute cycle to complete itself.
OK, so maybe not actually “scummy” (not sure what I mean by that) – but pretty sketchy for sure. No insult intended, just sometimes I feel like a total A-hole jumping through all the hoops because I think I must play by the rules or get the “F” out of civilization, while others merrily assume their right to do as they please. Actually, good luck with that – you might be on to something. Many folks assume the libertarian, “leave me alone” types all have conservative views. I fit some of that description but my views are very left-wing.

$450 is a sweet deal. I was thinking more like $1,000. I'm in SoCal also (O.C.). Could you let me know where you got them? Thanks in advance.

So you never speed - not even a mile or two above the limit? That aside, I don't see the connection between not following the rules and leaving the country or civilization as a whole. Are you suggesting that any failure, however minor, to strictly and dogmatically adhere to the laws renders the perpetrator a lawless sociopath who has no place in either this country or any other civilized society? Interesting philosophy you have there and a mighty high steed you ride on. "Good luck with that."

Got some more time/money on my hands so I'm making a few additional changes this month. I undid the tint off the taillights (went back to stock), painted the calipers, ordered an RS6 grill (also all blacked out besides the rings) plus I finally picked some 20 inch wheels (will order them this weekend probably).

In my experience, Sport Edition wheels are just passable as winter wheels and lack the quality most of us would be looking for. The finish is easily damaged, and the lack of quality is noticeable. GL.

I guess that explains the low price, thanks a lot for the feedback!
