Default Am I Due for a timing belt or do I have time?

I own an 05 A8L 4.2L with 88k miles, wondering if I need to tear down the engine now or can I wait another 15k? Is there any tricks or special tools i'll need when I change it? I am currently a Cadillac technician and know nothing about Audi, Just that I love it!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that the A8 didn't get the chain drive cam system until 07 or 08 (whenever they went to FSI), so you would have a timing belt, rather than the chain system.

You may be due for a timing belt job, which, while not exactly easy, certainly doesn't rise to the level of the timing chain system, which requires engine removal. The timing belt is done with the engine in the car, and is considered a maintenance item.

Is there any additional parts I may need to do the timing belt? i.e. water pump, gaskets, tensioner etc?
