Default Carbon Fibre Inlays MY14 Q7

G’day guys

Greetings from Sydney Australia....

Pick up my Q7 next week (3.0TDI, S-Line, Techniks Pack with 21 inch) which will be my first Audi after having owned previously a BMW and Mercedes.

I originally bought a Q5 however delivery was not till 30MAY2014 and we figured we may need more space after finding out we will be having child #3

A few mods I have purchased already prior to having the car delivered are

• H&R springs
• H&R spacers 18mm (f) 30mm (r)

I believe these two simple changes make the car sit just right and is enough for now with regards to exterior modifications.

Now for the interior….

I have obviously already purchased the car however when searching our local car sales website (www.carsales.com.au) I came across these carbon fibre inlays and am not sure if this is a factory option or if it was done by a local mob here in Australia. Reason i ask if it is factory is because the car i saw it one was a dealer demo car.

I think it looks bloody amazing and wondering if anyone has seen this/done this to theirs?

Also, if you have done this, do any of you have the stencils that you would be kind enough to share as a DIY project would definitely be on the cards if I could get my hands on it

Look forward to your thoughts and input.

Cheers guys

Audi does offer optional carbon fiber trims, but they are not cheap. Personally I don't think they are worth it. I bought some 3M 1080 black brush aluminum vinyl wraps locally for about $20, and did everything myself in about two hours. Also did my window trims and front grill in matte black, 50 bucks.

Not sure if its still available but you can check in the classifieds section here on AW, someone was selling a set of OEM carbon fiber inlays, it was for the V12 version but I think they're the same. Very nice!

Very nice job on the DIY wrap!

Did you do the roof rails as well? Can you take a pick if you did?

Thanks!

I didn't do the rails as it's beyond my limited vinyl wrapping skill level. It was on my to do list until I installed the bike rack. The factory rails matched well with the cross bars and bike rack. Thinking I'll just leave it as is for now.

You can also get your current stuff wrapped with real carbon fiber. I did this with my q5 and just ordered it for my q7. The guy at Ocarbon.com dies great work! Let me know if you'd like to see pics.

OK let's see if I can post from my phone.

These are from my Q5 which has since been sold for my Q7. The Q7 carbon has been ordered and is being made as we speak. I'll be able to share those pics once it arrives.

For ordering you have two options. You can remove and send in your current parts for him to wrap or you can pay a core fee which is refundable when you swap and send in your parts after installing the new ones. If you order soon, you might get my cores .
