Allroad got challenged by Honda Accord Ricer with Orange Wheels
I was traveling to VA Beach yesterday from NC and brought my Black Allroad. Just past Emporia, VA. There was an old 1990s Tan Honda Accord with Orange Wheels and very noisy big race-type noisy Mufflers. I was driving faster than usual (around 80-85 mph) and I notice this Honda was trying to catch up from behind me.
At any rate, we hit a stoplight and I was on the right lane and he was on the left lane. He revved up his engine so very loud (most likely to peak RPMs) and his exhaust noise was just blasting away. He clearly wanted me to race him. As I see the light turn green, I stepped on the gas, and I could hear his wheels screech, squeal and could even see smoke coming out of his car tires, but the allroad pulled so hard without any sound - I was suddenly propelled 5 car length away and then 7 and then 10 car lengths away. I did not even put the tranny in 'Sports mode'. Obviously, he lost a lot of traction at the get-go and the 4-wheel drive Audi just used all its torque efficiently on all 4 wheels.
When my wife heard the screeching wheels and his loud vrooming muffler, my wife said "What the hell was that?" I told her, "Look behind us, the crazy fool was trying to race me at the stoplight, and he is 10 car lengths behind us". We were laughing so hard that this ricer got humiliated. I wish I had brought the S5, but that really made my day yesterday.

Very nice Ayap. I must admit to a similar recent incident myself. I don't typically condone nor accommodate same but the Accord ricer was just too obnoxious. Same results!! How embarrassing for him to be soundly thrashed by a "station wagon."

LOL. What is with these kids who want to race with their 90s car.

Having that torque available with very low RPMs... along with Quattro ------ makes the AR a surprisingly quick vehicle. Oh... that 8-speed trans ain't too shabby either.
