Default '01 Audi TT - Rattle and running hot

Looking for some advice. My TT has 80K miles and I have put 60K of those miles on myself.

I have two issues I was hoping someone could advise me on:
1) It is rattling when cold (and even sometimes when warm) and I think, based on researching this forum, that it might be the cam tensioner.

2) Recently the temp gauge has been going past half way after a spirited drive when I come to a stop. It never used to do that. I did the 49C test and can see temps getting to 104c then the fan kicks on (I think) and it starts to cool.

Troubleshooting Steps Thus Far:
Oil Pressure appears normal - I am getting 80PSI cold idle, 25PSI warm idle, 50PSI warm 2k RPM, and 70PSI warn 3k RPM.

I changed the oil (Motul 8100 5-W40) with quality large oil filter. Previously I had been running Castrol Syntec 5-40. The Motul has reduced the rattle, but it's not totally gone.

I have attached some pics of my cams and valve cover. I don't know how to tell if my tensioner is bad. The cam chain is very tight.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Phil
