Default Clearing fault codes

I had a P0118 engine temp code. I replaced the sender. Is there way to clear the code and make the idiot light go out?

If you have fixed the fault it will eventually turn off on it's own. It usually takes 5-10 full warmup cycles to clear on it's own.

Otherwise buy an inexpensive OBDII reader and clear it yourself.

Harbor Freight has them for sale for under $60, you can buy them on E-bay for even less.

If you are going to keep the car it's worth having either a reader or a VAG.com. It will save you a lot of time and $$.

I just bought an OBDII bluetooth reader for $12 on ebay and downloaded an app for my droid (Torque)for $0.
