Brake Light Flashing....?
My brake light flashes/beeps 3 times, under heavy acceleration from a dead-stop, any one else experience this? Any ideas of what it can be? Thanks.

OOOoooo, cool...
Not sure buddy, but I know you can code the brake lights to flash under heavy braking. Maybe it's a coding issue.

Check brake fluid level...
It does this under hard acceleration if fluid is somewhat low. Thus, more likely in W12's and S8's. happened on mine right after I first got the car.
of course, low fluid level is a symptom of other things to check too. The most likely are simply brake pads. All around, but more so in the front where the caliper pistons use more fluid in the aggregate as the pads wear.
If fluid is filled correctly, this should be stable by the way. Best way to assure that is to fill it to max level right after a 4 wheel brake job. On the other hand, if you are topping up but pads are worn, perhaps better to add some but not max it, lest the reservoir overflow when caliper pistons are retracted during next brake job.

Just to clarify the Brake Light flashing is a red warning message on my gauge cluster not the actual tail light itself. And it is not the Parking Brake light. It is the "brake" message light under the "parking brake" message on the cluster.

I apoligize, but I know you weren't refering to my tail lamps. I just had to clarify, after a pm I received. I will check my brake fluid first thing tomorrow morning, thanks for the tip.
PS: What spec brake fluid does the D3 A8 require?

No worries...
... but it's actually spelled 'apologise' in English, so we'll cut you some slack...
MP4+6.t.0.2.4 etc etc says, "It does this under hard acceleration if fluid is somewhat low. Thus, more likely in W12's and S8's." Seriously? Why would you imply that owners of those cars are less likely to check their brake fluid?
And as for tail lamps/gauge cluster, you were quite right, you said 'brake light' singular. I read it wrong and responded to the wrong thing. My bad.
But MP4 etc etc is right, brake fluid.

DOT 4,
like German cars in general. Typically marked on a brake fluid reservoir too.
Many choices. Mine is Ate Gold Typ 200, but the old off the shelf standard would be something like Castrol.

Same fluid, more or less same system...
but the acceleration is what seems to trigger it, and magically there's somehow more of that w/ the bigger motors, with the gas bill to match. Technically the front caliper pistons are also a bit larger on the bigger motors which means more fluid level variance over life of front pads and thus even touchier to the issue. D3 trivia.
I know, a joke...
