Might buy a 92 100 cs. ( Motor question )
Hi,
Tomorrow I might buy a 1992 Audi 100 cs that I just went and looked at tonight. I've never owned one so I figured I would come here first and get the thoughts from those of you more familiar with this car then I am.
It's got the 2.8L motor in it. The motor makes a bit of a ticking sound and I'm somewhat iffy on that noise. The person I'd be buying the car from said it has always made this noise. The car doesn't smoke or leak any fluids. Even when I revved the motor the noise didn't seem to get any worse. Should I be concerned with this or was this just a normal sound from this motor?
It doesn't really sound like a knock or lifter noise. I've never owned anything but GM and Ford vehicles so I have no clue if this should be a big concern.

The only sounds coming out of my 92 2.8 V6 I can describe as ticking are the fuel injectors cycling, but it is not a prominent sound. It is hard to identify noises in writing, but I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply ncoupe. I did buy the car since I was able to get it cheap. It's got bugs that need to be worked out, but I'm someone that likes to tinker with things.
