Default Question about front license plate bracket

After some time, I received the front license plate bracket for my S-Line Q5. Attaching the bracket to the front grille does not appear to be an issue, but I noticed that the pre-drilled holes do not align with US license plate holes. Seems like other posters have mentioned this, but I haven't seen the answer to this puzzle posted anywhere.

Does anyone have information on how a US license plate actually attaches to the Audi bracket (in this case 8R080728M3FZ)?

You just center the plate and drill holes in it with self tapping screws. Your dealer will possibly do a plate install free of charge.
