Am I missing a part?
Hi there,
I just bought this '95 Audi 90 Quattro (and probably paid too much) and its got a few minor issues, but for now I'm wondering if there's a hose missing in the pic below. The bottom edge of the oil filler cap is at the top of the pic. I haven't been able to find any pics of this engine that are at an angle where I can see this part and this is the first of these cars I have been able to look under the hood in person.
Does something attach to this round orifice? It looks like it's part of a shroud - not the exhaust manifold itself.
Any explanation would be appreciated. I'm still in the process of getting a repair manual. Thanks.

I think It's fine.
The coolant hose from the radiator to just above the alternator is in place (assuming that's what you were referring too, CRAZY_RUSSIAN).
I think I finally found a pic that shows a hose of some sort coming from that region and appears to go down toward the air filter. I looked more closely at mine and the filter box has a round hole at the bottom with a plug in it. I have no idea why (on some engines and not others) it would be a good idea to pull hot air from the manifold area and pull it through the intake.
Curious.

I'm not sure
I have to confess I'm not even sure what the 'chassis code' is. I plugged in the VIN (WAUEE88C9SAxxxxxx) to the decoder on the site and it didn't have much info. It did say the MFR model code was 8C26U5. Not sure if that helps. What is the best way to find that info? Thanks.
P.S. the previous WA title calls it model: 9S. Confusing.
