Which fan switch?...the sensor in front of the radiator?

Did you find out which fan switch / location? My cooling fans are also running constantly...

It was in back of the engine on the right side, it was green switch if I remember right, I sold the car year agon so I can't look at it,

actually, it's the blue aux fan switch under the front of the engine. the green sensor in the back is the coolant temp sensor for the ECM and cluster. both fail regularly and both use the same o ring and clip. with any fan issues, I have been told to replace both first and then look elsewhere. if not the aux fan switch, check the fan control module. a faulty module will throw a code I am told. I have read many posts where a new blue aux fan switch was the cure.

I have the same problem on my A6. Fan always on when engine running. On full power. When it was warm today it stayed on low power when I turned engine off but usually it just goes off when I turn engine off. Did you have to replace fan switch and if so was it an easy job?
