Default I might/will get beat up on this

Ok, Now I sent MotoDyne an email asking about their supercharger kit for our engines and I talked with the owner about them. He says that the low boost kit runs at 7psi and uses a special cooling thing instead of a normal intercooler or aftercooler. It runs as a water to air cooler. Also the kit runs a custom fuel rail and relocates some other stuff like the cruise control servo and it comes with all the brackets. It also comes with a new intake manifold. It pushes 283HP with the 7psi and nothing else done to your car. It also should take about 8 hours of install time and seems quite easy with all their instructions (tons of pictures). So now that you are going yea right because I know how everyone feels about Motodyne...I have the opportunity to pick up a kit for half the price if I attend 7 car shows in the next year(supercharger installed for all the shows). Since I plan on doing the show scene anyway I think it might be a good idea to do it. I was just wondering what you guys think about it.

Default Don't believe the type.............

Your only contact was via E-mail? If you didn't see a workshop or showroom firsthand then I'd be very skeptical about what they said.

Whatever you do make sure you do not pay up front and ONLY do COD so you can inspect what's in the box before forking over $$$$

I ran a few checks on motodyne last year and there is no business license on file, no business taxes on file, no listing with the phone company, etc, etc.

They once claimed to be in partnership with the company that makes the presidential limos. Well one call to O'Gara, Hess & Eisenhardt--who makes the presidential limos since 1948 BTW (now owned by Armor Holdings and renamed Centigon) proved motodyne was lying through their teeth (like that's anything new) because nobody at OH&E ever heard of motodyne. And when that lie was exposed they changed their website and acted like nothing happened.

Default He asked me when was the best time to call...

Since I am out of town this next week I told him to call me the week after and that I would send him a reminder email when I am back. I have heard about all this strange stuff with them so indeed I will not just hand them the money. I will try work my stuff and see if I can get it all for free if I do lets say 10 shows instead of 7 in a year. In any case, I will keep everyone up to date on what's going on and if I do get it I will for sure take pictures through the entire process and post them up here.

Default I saw a video of the S/C'ed 12V A4 online, you could definitely tell the kit exists. <more>

Still I would be cautious, with what I've read about motodyne, I would want to do a COD or pickup, there's no way I would trust him to have it shipped to me.

That said, If it works out, let us all know, because I would love to get that thing going on my car.
