A/T low voltage input
hello I need help I have an a6 Quattro 2.7 2003 158000 mi had the timing belt, tensioners, water pump, alternator changed on my little demon after I drove it and it died due to bad alt. car started and drove fine after repairs. had oil leak inpan due to a crack, all I di was disconnect batter and change the pn to a new on reconnected the battery cars starts fine....but no heater, defroster, heated seats, and it wont release the shifter everything else seems to work. as I said it did just before changing the pan now it doesn't do any of the above. put an obd and got code P0501(I believe) low voltage input on A/T no other codes no engine light, cleared codes still same problem but no code. Don't know if heater and others worked was a warm day no need for a heater started and shifted fine in reg, sport, and tiptronic drives. Hve disconnected battery for several hours for that reset attempt...nope. positive noet did fix oil leak.

Chances are you moved/broke an old electrical connection or wire when replacing the oil pan gasket/seal.
Drop the belly pan and look around the oil pan and check ANY wire within a few inches of the engine/pan.
Do you mean Automatic Transmission low voltage input or is AT a misspelling….enquiring minds want to know?….
I have no idea what an Automatic Transmission low voltage input is…especially if the transmission is working fine...

yes it is automatic transmission. that code no longer appears, transmission is not working to what I can tell because shifter will not be released by brake pedal, heater quit working and so did seat warmers. only wires in any proximity are the oil sensor wires.

went back checked the fuses found the KI control supply fuses blows out now, this explains heated seats and inst cluster not working(heater buttond, defroster, ect) but does this actually affect the tiptronic shift lock? so there is a short somewhere that I have caused in replacing oil pan or mechanic has caused replacing alt, timing belt, and water pump, where oh where to begin looking? would take back to mechanic but wont shift out of park all the sudden after disconnecting battery to replace pan.

i would say your electrical failures due to the short and not being able to disable the shift interlock are not a coinidence.. you may need a meter and a schematic for this one..
