hi im in need of help i have just bought an a6 2.5 tdi ake engine but its a non runner due to the old owner takeing the cams out on the left side he said he could hear a scrapping sound and thought it may have dropped a valve which it has not why he did this i dont know but it was clear to him he was out of his depth so i bought the car cheap the cams look ok and show no wear on them the problem i have im not sure how to set them and also how to time the engine up and what timeing tools i need i have never worked on these engines before the car is a 2003 model i have taken the rocker cover of the other side and all looks fine there is no rockers that have fallen off so i want to put it all back together so i can hear it run and find out what the scraypping noise was many thanks
