Default AFC engine front cover
I recently purchased a 1998 A6 Avant Quattro with AFC engine. The engine front in not entirely covered. There is a plastic cover higher up, but lower down you can see the crank and the serpentine belt out in the open. Is my front cover broken, am I missing a lower piece of it, or are they all that way?

sounds like it but a picture is worth a 1000 words :-)
but.... i took all of my plastic carap off and called it a day

That's normal. There are no covers for those. You are missing the belly pan though. This one http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/8D0863821S/ES2225930/
