Snowblowers are nice, but shovels work too! This was why I was so over winter. Snow pic was from the last snowstorm we had Feb/Mar. When the banks are taller than the car, winter has been working too hard!

Easter Sunday is supposed to be sunny & just under 80 degrees Now (!) the TTS can come out to play
That's a cool picture of the snow covered TTS - but you've got to admit - a snow bank taller than a TTS isn't really a major occurrence (unless you're stuck next to it & need to get out

We have been in this location for 20ish years. This is only the second time that the snowbanks have been this big for so long. Now if we were in Western MA out in Conway or someplace like that it would be more common, but up here in the Lowell area it was a bit much. It's not like I am in Colorado or Montana or someplace where the normal snowfall is measured in yards! The real challenge was getting out of the driveway....the banks at the end of the drive were bad too, even after knocking the tops off of them!

Just out of curiosity - do you swap wheels / tires twice a year or do you run all seasons? Our TTS came with really good Toyo 19 summers, but since this thing is mostly a backup & doesn't get driven that much I didn't want the cost & hassle of changing. Right after we got it, I sold the Toyos & put on a set of Michelin's new Pilot Sport AS3 all seasons. The few times it did get out in snow / ice, I was impressed with the handling. Basically as good as our Q7.

I change over to dedicated snows in the winter. I currently have the OEM Toyos on the summer rims, but will probably get a set of Micheleins when these are done. With two sets of wheels and a good floor jack I can change over in less than an hour. We normally don't get Rocky Mountain weather, but I also ski in the winter and just like the security of a good set of Hakkapeliitta snow tires on the corners when we do. My current winter set up is a tad smaller than I would like as it is the set I had for my '10 TT (-2 17's) but I am planning on getting a set of 18s at some point to clear the brakes a little bit more.

The winter handling of this car is good. He has never failed me yet, and it is so much fun to see the google eyed look of the SUV crowd when you show up someplace during a snow storm or pull out of the parking space with a hood high ridge of snow left by the helpful plow driver in parking lots.

But enough on winter.....bring on the nice weather!

Supposed to be 80*+ today. I guess it's safe to put the snowblower away after all. Bring on the black flies!

I live in the Chicago area where it's in the high 70's & lower 80's - but raining most of the rest of the week - however, I'm currently in Southern California where it's sunny & in the 70's. Boy - do I wish I had the TTS here (Pacific Coast Hwy here I come ) .
