2005 A6 Rain Leak
When it rains heavily, the carpet in the front passenger's footwell gets soaked. Is there a particularly common cause for this problem? I haven't been able to figure out where the water is getting in.
I don't have a lot of time to spend on this myself, so what kind of shops is best to figure out the problem? Body shop? General repair shop? Dealer service department?

Here's the search results for you: Search Results for FOOTWELL WATER
Essentially, if you have a sunroof, the drains from the sunroof can become plugged and if no sunroof and you are still experiencing the issue, then check the plenum under the cowl drain: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-.../#post24323897
Fix it ASAP, otherwise you can kiss some of the electronics in your car not working soon after.

2005 A6 Rain Leak--FINALLY Solved!
Tried the sunroof drain and cowl drain cleanouts, done by dealer, to no avail. Front passenger footwell carpet was still getting soaked when it rained.
A guy at the independent shop I now go to had seen this before. Turns out it was an opening or separation between segments of the drain tube running from right front corner of the sunroof and down the right-side A-pillar. Shop had to remove headliner to get at, but they fixed it, and after the car sat out in the rain immediately after the repair, it was dry inside!
