Replaced ignition switch...car still won't start. Need advice.

Default Nope... only relay is the solenoid itself. Definitely sounds like it's the trigger wire...

trace it back... make sure the connection is good, and double-check the connection on the new switch. Can you get at the switch to check the connection there? (ie, test the output voltage from the switch when the wire is connected... jam a test-probe from the voltmeter in the solenoid trigger wire connection).

Done anything else that could have shorted the wire?

Hate to say it, but triple-check the female-spade connector on the solenoid trigger wire. I had a slow/no-start issue with my Scirocco (same style connections), and turned out it was just too much rust on the connection/wire. Snipped 2" off, crimped on a new connection, and everything was golden.

Default fighting the same problem with a 90 CQ!

I'm going to go check for corrosion at the starter trigger wire...

Let me know if you find yours.
