why is PRNDS lit up?
I have been having battery problems, and recently my mechanic charged the battery up and said it should be OK but keep an eye on it. This morning I started the car up, but it sounded for a second like it wouldn't start, and then PRNDS lit up on the screen. I could not engage tiptronic -- nothing on the dash, no change in transmission -- and the car needed a heavy foot on the gas to make it move off the line, i.e. lots of revs, not much action. After driving around for a while, I shut the car off, turned it on again, and all seemed fine, maybe because the battery was charged up. Any theories or insights on what this is about would be much appreciated. Battery is less than a year old, btw. Thanks as always.

Since last I posted I have had the PRNDS fault diagnosed and it is a faulty sensor which is being changed as I write this. When I took it to the shop for repair it was a journey of > 100 miles and it did not slip into limp mode at all during the journey. As a matter of interest one of the hydraulic engine mountings has failed and exhibits a permanent fault; that is being replaced too.

Prnds lit all the time
I have the same issue, I bought an 03 TT 180hp knowing the valve body needed attention so I bought the trans go shift kit and installed it. Car shifts great now but takes a second to kick into gear when you go from park to r and to d. I did an ohm test on park neutral switch and everything tested good. I also took apart the center console and checked all the magnets on the tip gate that's all in order as well as all the fuses. The lights on the center console light up when shifting into gear the dash however is not on the same page any help would be greatly appreciated.
