Radar detectors are legal in some but not all Provinces, as I recall.

When I install V-1 hard wiring I want to place the wire in the A pillar behind the airbag. I haven't removed the A pillar trim from an A3. Can you tell me how to remove it? Is it snapped in place? do I simply pry it off?

Thanks.

Please exdcuse me for intruding. Though it was an accident, I am steeled to accept 40 lashes. Surely you have never made an error.

I take it that you do not have the slightest idea how this piece of trim is affixed by Audi?

I think he was saying try asking A3 guys since they'll know the A3 cars better...and we won't.

Yes, that is what I was trying to say, but failed miserably. My apologies.

UPDATE: The new SAVVY recently released by Valentine One pretty much makes hard wiring obsolete. The SAVVY provides speed selectable muting. I set mine for 35 mph. Not having any beeps when putzing in the city is great! It plugs into the OBD port, then your V-1 plugs into it. Replaces the untidy hard wiring taps into fuse block and chassis ground lug screw.

CHEERS

Thanks for the bump! Would never have found this thread from 2006.

Looks like I'll be spending a few hundred $$ in the near future.
