What's the condition of the hypo S car (if you have a potential on the hook)?
There is tons of plug and play goodness for these cars, but they are all getting a little long in the tooth (as you saw first hand with Eric's red S4 you took up to ASW a few years ago), so you may want to factor in some incidentals after a pre-purchase into the budget equation. Hopefully, the 'incidental' list won't be nearly as bad as his old car was.. ;-)
You're also welcome to drive my 400 whp version, should you want to venture futher down the slope..
Good luck.

Not really....any mechanic can throw an engine together...there is some "black art"...
...involved in getting it done "right"...seriously. Ppl that do it right...know they do it right, and charge accordingly...

Much, much better shape than Eric's
That said would expect to maybe spend a grand just on the incidental type stuff you mention.
I may have to take you up on driving your car some time... where are you located?

Cost me $4k to rebuild the suspension and do brakes alone...
No labor in that price either (as I did it myself). I wouldn't do it again (i.e. I hate suspension work). That was a complete teardown and rebuild of the suspension on my old S6A and with european S6 "Sport" Avant springs + Custom Valved Bilsteins.... But, like I said...
To do it "right" is gonna cost more than $5,000.
Isn't the turbo like $1000, and the EM is darn near that. Brakes will run another $1000 or more, etc... It adds up.
Albeit, I think the 034 EM looks like its even better and cheaper.

Broomfield area. That's good, his poor old car..
The guy that bought it actually bolted RS2 goodies up to it and then flipped it to someone else (or so I heard); an interesting transaction for sure..
Shoot me a note anytime, and we can work something out. The streets need to dry out a bit before hand, but then she's all yours (oh and bring a diaper) ;-).

"They are all getting long in the tooth..." Maybe _your car_ is... ;-). Jason, come on down...
We'll have beers, and talk about RS2. I've been thinking about upgrading as well.
