Hello All,

I acquired a 2006 3.2 A6 a few months back for a winter car and I was hoping someone could help me out with a few questions regarding some maintenance I have to do on the car…

1. As the result of some ice and snow, the windshield wipers are slightly offset now and seem to be further up the windshield when stationary, rather than falling back into place, but they seem to be working OK. Is this an easy fix, or an issue with the motor?

2. When I bought the car, the MMI wheel/buttons were damaged from liquid, and the dealer provided me with a new part. I am assuming the dealer may need to re-flash after the install, but is this the case, and how difficult is this part to install?

3. My rear left tail lamp went out, but the LED portion seems to be working OK. I ordered a bulb and took the lamp apart to replace, and this did not work. I noticed the light board itself had some sort of corrosion or build up on it, and I have found a few threads talking about cleaning this up. Can anyone tell me about this and how I should go about testing whether or not I need to order a new assembly/board?

1. Maybe there is something still block8ng one the wipers underneath. If the whole mechanism is defective, they go very cheap on ebay and it's not hard to replace. Sometimes you have to get a puller for removing the wiper arms but otherwise a simple job.

2. The mmi buttons console is quite involved to replace as all the plastics on top and on the sides of the center console have to come off. You start with the side plastics.

3. On the bulbs board i would use some contact spray to clean the rust and lubricate the connections. Pull the plug from the board and verify connections there as well.

And yeah, audis can be a pain to fix but they make it up in driver enjoyment.
