black grill frame + roof rails
Hey guys, I'm new to the C6 fam. I sold my beloved B5 S4 and bought my former co-worker's C6 Avant to make room for my growing family. He's already tastefully modded it, but I was thinking about painting the front grill frame gloss black(like that of the black optics pkg on the RS6) and the roof rails matte black. One detail I didn't think about that a friend brought up is if I am going to paint those pieces, might as well paint the window frames and any other trim that's polished to black otherwise it won't look right. Do you agree?
Has anyone painted their grill frame and their roof rails(if you have an Avant) in here? Just wondering if I should go gloss black or matte black for both or like I mentioned above. Thanks for your opinions, all!

use black electric tape to cover chrome part. This way you can see how it will look when you paint it.
I also heard that to paint it you would need to take it off the car and sand the chrome off. So alternatively you can try to put electric tape very carefully and just leave it there. It worked for me on C$ A6 around window moldings.

Well.........
you could do this two ways:
1)All blacked out
-buy blacked out grill/paint existing grill
-powder coat all trim and roof rails (requires taking off all parts sandblasting /coating and reinstalling) This would be well worth the effort...... But You need to have a shop do it. You could also think about vinyl wrapping all of it but it won't look near as good.....and any A6 deserves the best (they make flat black 3m conform now by the way)
-powder coat the wheels when you do the trim it won't cost much more go all the way
............see how this **** snowballs....the next thing ya know you'll have a black suede headliner blacked out dash ...and on and on...
2) leave it alone....it looks great dude
