Brakes without VAG
I've searched the threads for how to do breaks on an '05 A6 without VAG-COM because I heard it was possible but haven't been able to find it. Can anyone post the link to it??

vagcom makes the rears easier to do (not needed for the front). I just did all 4 corners (05 4.2) including rotors and did not use vagcom. As other posters have mentioned, on the rears you can remove the parking brake motor (2 torx screws) and manually detract (rotate) the motor shaft and push in the caliper piston. Not too hard at all.
The hardest part on the rears is getting the caliper carrier bracket off to remove the rotor. The lower bolt is next to the axle and in front of the strut. I could only get a 3/8 drive socket in there and luckily had a 2' breaker bar for leverage.
